Compound Cut Club Hairstyles

Hair Texture :

Hair Texture 1a-1c : If you have these hair textures, Congratulations! You are able to do more hairstyles that some people that might have super curly hairs. Some hairs are more stubborn that others but generally, you can try a lot of hairstyles:

Hair texture 2a-2c :

2a: This hair texture, you will need to keep the top a bit longer to get the waves look. When you keep your hair short, you won’t probably see your full natural texture, it’ll look like its. a 1a-1c. We recommend you keep your hair longer and you still hav a choice to go for some slick styles that 2c-4c cant achieve. I say people with this texture are very lucky because they can get the waves look that som straight hair guys want but still versatile enough to have styles that 3a-4c cant achieve.

2b and 2c are pretty much the same but your waves are tighter so you have a choice of getting shorter hair while still showing the texture.

Hair Texture 3a-3c:

CURLS FOR THE GURLS! This is the texture other of people are paying to get although u do not have as many options for styles. You either have it long for a nice curls look or you can go short for a buzz look. There are other styles like braids and man bun that you could still rock. You can try out our Cement Clay to try and shape your curls to more straighter look to achieve a combover, slick back, middle parts, pompadours etc..

Hair Texture 4A-4C

Afro Hairs: As ya’ll know already, probably more than any of us here at Compound. You are limited to a handful of hairstyles. Some popular ones we see at the barbershops are laid down waves, mini afro, blowout taper, bald fade, man bun, Braids, Burst Fade, Twist curls, and flattop. The best part about this hair texture though, is that your cut that you get from your barber, is pretty much how it’ll look for weeks. This is why it’s super important for you to get a haircut from a barber that specializes in your hair texture.

FACE SHAPE :

Oval:

The oval face shares many of the same characteristics as a round face, but is generally more elongated. The distinct features of the oval face shape are softer. The best hairstyles for the oval face man require volume on top, as the face is longer than your cheeks, your forehead is wider than your jaw, and your head shape is curved rather than angular.

Hair and beards are optional for guys with

Faces that are oval. The contours of their faces are smooth and rounded

jaw lines, so go clean shaved for the beard.

Beware of fringes and bangs that may cover your face

and make your face appear rounder.

Round:

The length and width of round faces are about equal

and the jawline offers no sharp corners or defining edges.

The best way to make your round face look longer? Consider hairstyles that are short on the sides but add height or volume.

The hairstyles for this are pompadour, undercut, long combover quiff etc..

For facial hair, try to create defined lines to clone a jawline.

Triangle:

Triangular face shapes punctuate angular features, most specially with the jawline being wider than the cheekbones.

to equaliaze your your face and create symmetry, the best haircut for guys with triangle face shapes is to prevent short sides and and try medium length and textured hairstyle on top.

The hairstyles are finger length on the sides and a quiff on top or a medium length combover with a taper.

Diamond

You have strong angles your cheekbones are wider than your jawline.

Best hairstyles for your face shape are textured crops and and textured layers on top. This is to shorten your face a little bit because diamond faces are usually long and narrow.

You can consider growing out your facial hair to soften up your jawlien and chin as well.

Square:

You have a symmetrical face shape which is very versatile. You can go either short to buzzcut with a fade or grow it to have a littl ebit of volume on top

for your facial hair, you can grow stubbles just to soften the cheekbones and jawline a little bit.

Hair density :

Thin density : If you have thinner hair, dont worry, you can still do a lot with it. most common mistake clients make is growing out their thin hair, but that actually highlights more of your thin hair. When you leave it long, the more its noticable. You can go for medium to short length hairstyles to get the most out of your hair. If you’re getting fades, try and tell your barber to do a tighter fade. This will make your fades still have a nice contrast which is what everybody notices when you’re out and about.

Medium Density :

You are a very lucky person, You have thick enough hair that your scalp isnt showing and your hair is thin enough so its versatile for any hairstyle. You have 0 worries in the world and look at the other categories for which hairstyle could work the best for you.

Thick Density:

You know what they always say: better to have more than to have none. Your hair might take more teturizing and product to style but is still able to do a lot of hairstyles. Your fades will have more contrast and you will get more compliments for that. Make sure that you get your barber to stretch out those fades a bit more than usual as it could look too bowl cutty.

Hairline:

Low Hairline : If want longevity and natural looking hairline, say you dont want a line up to your barber. This just lets us know that you do not want the hairlines shaved and squared off. You are very lucky to have a low hairline and you have lots of options you could do with it . If you come weekly or every 2 weeks, you can get a line up. Since your hairline is lower, if you wanted the hairs out of your face, the barer will need to cut the fringe way shorter than usual.

Medium Hairline: Like the low hairline: you have a lot of options with your hair. You xan either leave it natural and say no to the line up or get it lined up but you’ll need to come every few weeks to get it maintained

This is the best hairline you could ask for because its not too high or not too low.

Receding hairline:

If you do not want to show your receding hairline, we recommend getting fringe style like a crop. This is actually a very popular haircut right now and this will work perfect to make it seem like you have a normal size forehead. If you have only one side receding, you can also get a short combover towards the receiding side to hide the receiding.

If you want to just embrace your hair, we can also just do any hairstyle but we reccomend keeping the sides and back short so the top seem thicker than it seems.

Cowlick hairline: One of the curses we are born with is a cowlick right at the front hairline. This is a curse because whatever you try to do to those hairs, they will just have their own mind and go their own way. There are two solutions for this problem, you can either grow your hair super long so its heavy enough to just overdirect away from the cowlick or just go super short like a buzzcut,

Sometimes you can just embrace the cowlick also and just let it part where it want to and just work with that. These would be like middle split or 80/20 split.

How long do you want to spend in the morning:

0 minutes : these styles are the buzzcuts and the braids. These are the ones where the hairs are either super short or its tight in place

less than 5 minutes: these are the style that do not require blowdrying: short curls, short crops any blended style, more natural looks.

5-10 minutes: most volume hairstyles will require you to blowdry your hair. Depending on how thick and long your hair is, some hairs will take longer to dry and shape than others. Make sure to tell your barber, you want to style the hair more effeciently so can can either cut it shorter or thin it out.

10 minutes or more are the hairstyles that need a lot of blowdrying. if you have long thick hair and you still want volume, it could work, but it might take awhile to style. Make sure that you know what you are dealing with when it comes to getting that style of your dream.

Short hairstyles like a buzzcut, finger length, short crops with fades will need more maintenance from the barber. This hairstyle always needs fades because when the sides grow out too much, the hairs will already look too even all around and thats not what we want if we want to make the top apear longer while keeping it short, if that makes sense.

If you have medium length to longer hairs on top with styles like combover, pompadour, undercut, quiff, perm, etcc, you can grow out your fades a little bit until you can feel the hairs starting to tickle the back of your neck. Usually thats about 2-3 weeks is when this happens. Your style on top can still look good without having such a tight fade and thats why you can go for a few weeks. When your outlines of your haircut are pretty much grown out is thats another good indicator that you need a haircut.

For hairstyles that require the sides and back to be longer than an inch, you can get a haircut every 3 months. This is because the hairs are kept longer and the the longer they get, the nicest the flow. The flow is what you want but after a few months, it can get a little long so thats why you will need a clean up trim. Not every barber can do a scissor cut so make sure you go to “barber selector” menu on our website to select the barber that does scissor cuts.
